About Folkestone and Hythe Constituency
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.
Romney Marsh wind farm to get Government go-ahead against local opposition
A report in todays Independent claims that Energy minister Malcolm Wicks will tell the British Wind Energy Association conference in Cardiff today that he has given the go-ahead for a large wind farm at a controversial site at Romney Marsh, Kent.
