About Folkestone and Hythe Constituency
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.
Kent A Loser in School Place Lottery as Thousands Miss Out on 1st Choice of School
30% of school children in Kent have missed out on their first choice of secondary school this year, according to a survey of local authorities by The Times. The result compares badly with other local councils, with only 7.7 per cent of children in West Sussex not offered a place at the school they wanted.
