A20 Accident Death between Folkestone and Dover

The BBC report that one person died and 20 were injured in a pile-up involving more than 40 vehicles on the A20 between Folkestone and Dover on Saturday.

The crashes happened in dense fog and rain. The man who died was killed in the collisions that took place in the traffic tailbacks. The vehicles involved in the series of crashes were 35 cars, five lorries, a fire truck and a coach carrying children from a school in Poole, Dorset.

A police officer and four fire officers were among the injured. No-one on the school coach was injured. The coast-bound carriageway of the A20 was closed following the accident.
