Cllr Gill Jenkins to step down

The District Councillor for East Ward, Gill Jenkins has announced that she is resigning, with immediate effect, from the District Council.

Gill has written to all the constituents in her ward today, explaining the situation to them. She will deliver her letter of resignation to Shepway District Council in the morning.

She is resigning for personal reasons.

Gill said "It has been a pleasure and an honour to serve the people of Folkestone East as their Councillor. However, due to changes in my personal life I must now step down as their Councillor."
