Charles Kennedy addresses the crowd in Hythe today

Charles Kennedy visited Hythe today to give the local Lib Dem campaign a boost with just hours until polls open at 7am on Thursday. Mr Kennedy gave his backing to Peter Carroll saying that Peter would be "excellent MP for local people and a strong addition to the growing Lib Dem team in Parliament."

Charles and Peter addressed a large crowd of activists in the middle of Hythe. Peter Carroll said, "We are heading for the closest ever finish in Folkestone & Hythe Constituency - every vote will be crucial on Thursday."

With the Labour voting collapsing across our area, Michael Howard faces an uphill battle to hold onto his seat on Thursday.
