Kent Police officers have uncovered a cannabis factory in Folkestone.

Officers from Shepway Community Policing Team carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs act at an industrial unit in the Shorncliffe area of Folkestone during the afternoon of Wednesday 18 January.

Around 40 cannabis plants were seized by officers. Growing equipment has also been dismantled and removed. Enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Jason Atkinson of Shepway Community Policing Team said::

`We ask residents to remain vigilant to signs of potential drug use in their communities and report anything suspicious to police via 101.'
