"Lets Stop Passing the Buck"

14 Jul 2005

Hythe South campaigner Darren Briddock attended a public meeting on Thursday held by Kent Police Authority and Shepway Council and was reassured by a commitment to work across agencies to crack down on crime in Hythe.

Following a question from Darren Briddock about designated dispersal areas, the Assistant Chief Constable Area operation David Ainsworth said that the police and Shepway should work together to crack down on anti social behaviour and other crime and stop passing the buck.

Darren commented:

"I'm delighted that Kent Police are taking anti-social behaviour in Hythe seriously. It's essential that all agencies work together to tackle crime and the fear of crime locally. We now need to see more evidence that this co-ordinated approach is being put in place, and working."
