Local Services Unite to Help Residents this Winter
Folkestone & Hythe District Council is inviting residents to a community event designed to help people access advice, information and practical support ahead of the colder months.
The Cost of Living and Health Event will take place on 2 November 2026 between 10.30am and 3pm at Hub on the Beach in Greatstone (TN28 8NR).
Organised by the council’s community safety team, the event will bring together a range of local organisations to offer guidance on staying safe, healthy and financially secure.
Residents can access information about:
- Food poverty and access to local food support
- Energy costs, reducing household bills and keeping warm
- Fire Service checks and personalised fire safety advice
- Local agencies that can support their physical health and wellbeing
- Benefit entitlement and financial wellbeing
- Safeguarding and community safety – including scams and support for people who may be living alone, vulnerable or experiencing loneliness
- Local services and community support available across the district
Representatives from a range of partner organisations will be on hand throughout the day to answer questions and direct residents to relevant services and support.
Winter can be a challenging time. We hope that by bringing local organisations together in one place it makes it easier for residents to access clear, practical advice on how to get the support they may need.
