Lower Leas Coastal Park Play Time is Another Step Closer
Work to deliver an exciting new era for the Lower Leas Coastal Park play area is due to get underway next week.
And to mark the occasion, Folkestone & Hythe District Council has released a second image previewing just some of the inclusive equipment set to be enjoyed by children for years to come.
Proludic will start on the £750,000 refurbishment project on Monday (20 April) just as the cliff stabilisation work near The Vinery is due to be completed.
That means the existing play equipment – including the pirate ship – will need to be closed until the 2026 summer season for public safety. This schedule was especially arranged to avoid the Easter school break.
A Folkestone & Hythe District Council spokesperson said:
“The project is starting to gather some real momentum and we’re all very excited about reaching this milestone.
“We are sure that children of all ages, interests and abilities will be thrilled by the new Lower Leas Coastal Park play area when it opens in a few months’ time.”
While the ‘fun zone’ will be temporarily closed, all other sections of the award-winning park remain available to enjoy. Diversions for pedestrians and cyclists will be in place, so visitors are asked to check signage.
Updates about the project’s progress will be shared on Folkestone’s & Hythe District Council’s social media platforms and website.
