Message from Mayoress of Folkestone: Town Mayor of Folkestone's Christmas Charity Auction Postponed

1 Dec 2010

Mayoress of Folkestone Kate McNeice has confirmed that this evenings planned Charity Auction at Quarterhouse, Folkestone has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions. Kate said:

"I am really sorry to inform you all that the Mayor's Charity Auction has had to be postponed due to the latest BBC news about the weather for Folkestone today. We are so sorry that this has had to happen at the last minute but in discussion with the Auctioneer, Michael Hogben, Town Council and Quarterhouse, it is felt that the event is no longer viable for this evening.

"It would help considerably, if we could have help to spread the word amongst your contacts, to reduce the risk of anyone braving the weather and turning up unecessarily. The safety of the people attending is paramount and we have had to make this very sad decision.

"Needless to say we are really disappointed about this and hope that you will all come to the event when we have a new date, which we hope will be later in December or early in January."
