New Conservative resignation from Shepway Council

Conservative Councillor for New Romney Coast ward Sue Ashworth has resigned from Shepway Council. The Chief Executive conformed today that they had received and accepted a letter of resignation from Councillor Ashworth late last week.
There will therefore be a by-election in New Romney Coast, to elect a ward colleague for Liberal Democrat Val Loseby. Shepway Council have confirmed that the by-election date is likely to be 22nd October.
