Oldtimers Car Rally on The Leas outside The Grand

Well done to the organisers of the Oldtimers Car Rally who not only kept the car owners happy and the visitors viewing the cars, but organised the weather too.

A beautiful afternoon which encouraged people to picnic beside their cars and created an atmosphere of community celebration. I happily mingled with the visitors and enjoyed meeting holidaymakers and exhibitors alike. The love and care given to the upkeep of the cars was obvious but the best part of the afternoon was watching the pleasure these old vehicles gave to everyone attending.

I was delighted to award the prizes to the winners in the eight categories, finishing with the prize for Best in Show, which was a Rolls Royce once belonging to the late Queen Mother.
