Opening of the K&MFRA Ashford Live Fire Training Facility
I was honoured to be able to attend (alongside my colleague Mike Sole) the opening of the new K&MFRA Ashford Live Fire Training Facility today.
A facility about 15 years in the making, it basically gives Kent firefighters a place to train to tackle indoor fires in a wide range of scenarios so they are as prepared as they can be with any situation they arrive at.
Ribbon cutting, plaque unveiling and speeches very nice - there was clearly good respect between the Fire Authority and Morgan Sindell who built it). However the real highlight to be able to watch a training exercise using the new building, and get just a bit on insight into tackling fires, judging the issues, understanding the pressures and simply seeing some of the team in action.
