Sir Keir Starmer revealed during today’s ongoing PMQs that Conservative MP for Dover Natalie Elphicke is quitting the Conservative party and joining Labour.

In reaction, nearby Folkestone and Hythe Liberal Democrat Group Leader Tim Prater was incredulous. He said:

"Have Dover and Deal Labour lost the plot?

"I can see what's in it for her. I can't begin to imagine what's in it for them.

"There is nothing in her record as an MP to suggest she has a centre-ground political bone in her body.

"There will be a lot of Labour Party members today appalled to think they are in the same Party as Natalie Elphicke."
