Shepway Civic Centre: No cash accepted from 4th Jan

22 Dec 2010

From the 4 January 2011, cash will no longer be accepted at Shepway Civic Centre - although any customer with a council payment card, or invoice with a barcode, can make cash payments at more than 30 outlets across Shepway displaying the Pay Point or the Post Office sign.

AUTOMATED PAYMENT LINE

You can pay with most cards by phoning Shepway Council's 24-hour payment line on 01303 853555. There is no charge for payments by Debit Card but there is a 1.5% charge on every transaction made by Credit Card.

DIRECT DEBIT

This is the easiest and most efficient way to pay Council Tax, business rates, housing benefit overpayments and sundry debtor invoices.

E-BILLING

If you pay Council Tax or business rates you can now apply for an electronic version of your bill. This will be by email and will be quicker than normal post and much more environmentally friendly.

It's easy to apply. Just visit the Shepway Council website and go to the Council Tax or Business Rates pages and click on the electronic billing link. Alternatively you can email revenues.benefits@shepway.gov.uk.
