Shepway District Council New Cabinet Announced

Conservative Leader of Shepway District Council David Monk has announced his new cabinet following the District Council elections last week in which Deputy Leader Russell Tillson lost his seat on the Council. The new cabinet is made up as follows:

  • David Monk - Leader
    Councillors; election and electoral registration; corporate policy; partnership development; strategic budget co-ordination; economic growth; property development; planning policy; human resources; organisational development; emergency planning and business continuity
  • Jenny Hollingsbee - Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Communities
    Community safety; troubled families; community engagement and empowerment; arts and culture; leisure and sport; young people; voluntary sector; town & parish liaison; equalities and diversity; safeguarding (children, young people & vulnerable adults); health and wellbeing
  • Susan Carey - Cabinet Member for Finance
    Financial management; corporate debt; audit (internal and external); treasury management; revenues; benefits; write offs; risk management; anti fraud and corruption framework
  • John Collier - Cabinet Member for the District Economy
    Economic development; regeneration; tourism; heritage (conservation); business rate relief
  • Malcolm Dearden - Cabinet Member for Transport and Commercial
    Transport; traffic management; on and off street parking; passenger shelters; grounds maintenance; lifeline; legal; corporate governance; contract management; information access and security; RIPA; procurement
  • Alan Ewart-James - Cabinet Member for Housing
    Strategic housing; local authority housing management; homelessness; housing allocation; housing conditions; private sector housing
  • David Godfrey - Cabinet Member for Special Projects
    Projects falling within more than one portfolio, allocated by the Leader, which makes a substantial contribution to one or more of the council's key strategic objectives
