West Hythe Road: Watch Your Speed

20 Nov 2009

Hythe campaigner Neil Matthews has put pressure on Kent County Council to install a speed awareness sign for the West Hythe Road to combat speeding in the area.

Hythe West District Councillor Neil says:

"Speeding on this road is a serious problem, made even worse by the poor street lighting. Speed awareness signs have proved effective at getting drivers to moderate their speed."

Neil warned that further speed calming measures may be needed if the Conservative supported Nickolls Quarry development goes ahead, commenting:

"Traffic problems will only increase on this road, and I fear it becoming a rat-run to the M20."
