What a difference where you live makes

Local Lib Dem, Gary Fuller has reacted with horror upon finding out that where you reside in Folkestone and Hythe can have a massive effect on how long you live. Men living in Cheriton ward live 6.2 years longer than men in Harbour ward, while women in North Downs West ward live 5.8 years longer than women living in Harbour Ward. Commenting, Gary said:

"It's no coincidence that where you live in the district has a significant effect on life expectancy. Residents in some of our most deprived wards, where patients are already struggling to access fundamental services like the NHS, are dying about six years before their less deprived counterparts. That cannot be fair or right. There needs to be urgent action to get to the bottom of why this is the case and ensure that life expenctancy is no longer a postcode lottery in Folkestone and Hythe."
