F&HDC Ward Grant Funding and the Folkestone Channel Triathlon 2020
Each year, Folkestone and Hythe District Councillors get £3,000 of grant funding that they can use to support organisations, activities and projects that benefit the area.
New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.

You may also have heard very recently that the Home Office contacted the District Council last Thursday afternoon (10th September) to explain they had plans, previously never mentioned or discussed, to house a migrant processing centre at Napier Barracks.
At an online extraordinary meeting of Folkestone and Hythe Council on 16th September, the Council considered the adoption of the Local Plan.
