Folkestone Town Forthcoming Event: Battle of Britain Wreath Laying Services
The annual wreath laying service in honour of the Battle of Britain.
New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.

Confirmation that the nation is to invest half a billion pounds on Faslane might be in line with what was promised before last year's Independence referendum in Scotland, but given the closeness of the result - and the outcome in Scotland of this year's general election which virtually handed the Conservatives their election victory - we have to ask ourselves whether this is the right thing to do.
