New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.
Agendas for the Sandgate Parish Council meetings of the Environment Committee and Full Council to be held on 11 October are now online on the Sandgate Parish Council website.
The long trailed Shepway Parking Strategy has been released and agreed by Conservative Shepway District Council Cabinet. As long predicted by the Liberal Democrats in Shepway, the plan proposes new on-street parking charges in many locations across the district.
There has been a bit of media interest this morning about the £10 million Kent County Council has on deposit with Dexia. Dexia is a major European bank, which, despite passing "stress tests" just a few weeks ago was falling into serious trouble due to exposure to Greek debt.
