New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.

Sandgate Councillors Gary Fuller and Tim Prater have launched a petition against a proposed development of Sandgate Escarpment. The "Sandgate Says No" petition is part of a cross-community campaign against the building of housing on the hills above Sandgate below Shorncliffe Camp. The proposed development Y11/0137/SH is for:

A motion opposing the removal of free to school transport for pupils at selective and religious schools in Kent proposed by the Liberal Democrat group has been voted down by the Conservative majority on Kent County Council. The motion, moved by County Councillor Tim Prater, read:
