About Folkestone and Hythe Constituency

From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.

The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.

Folkestone Film Factory is looking for children aged 10-17 to join their new creative panel and take part in a number of exciting film activities. The film production company is a social enterprise, using film-making to educate, inspire, engage, inform and support community-based initiatives.

Veolia Water Southeast bills announcement

Veolia Water Southeast (VWSE) has announced that its prices for 2010/2011 will rise by 1.5%. Ofwat has approved an increase of 1.2% in charges to allow the company to continue with its extensive capital investment programme with an additional allowance for inflation of 0.3%. The 2010/2011 charges were agreed with the regulator last year as part of a five year plan covering the period 2010-2015. The rises for 2010/11 will take effect from the beginning of April.
