www.kmonline.co.uk have reported that Shepway Council had parking fine revenue totalling £357,116 in 2007/08 - a £42,000 decline from the 2006-07 figure of £399,953.02.

About Folkestone and Hythe Constituency
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.
Met office warn of icy roads overnight in Kent and heavy rain through Monday and Tuesday
The Government Met Office (www.metoffice.gov.uk) have warned of widespread icy roads across Kent on Sunday night (8 February), with heavy rain then forecast for the County from mid-afternoon on Monday (9 February) through Tuesday.

Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce respond to Kent International Gateway planning application
Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce have responded to the submitted plans for Kent International Gateway on the outskirts of Maidstone, saying they are "seriously concerned that the Kent International Gateway planning application may have unacceptable local impact".
