New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Folkestone and Hythe will include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of Broadmead, Cheriton, East Folkestone, Folkestone Central, Folkestone Harbour, Hythe, Hythe Rural, New Romney, Romney Marsh, Sandgate & West Folkestone, Walland & Denge Marsh.
The electorate will be reduced to bring it within the permitted range by transferring out the North Downs area in the north (North Downs East and North Downs West wards), along with the parts in the Borough of Ashford (Saxon Shore ward), primarily to the reconfigured constituency of Ashford.
Sandgate residents have voted overwhelming to change the local Council back to a Parish administration, reversing the Council's previous decision to become a Town authority with a Mayor.
Voters in Sandgate go to the polls in a parish poll this Thursday. If voters vote YES, the recent change in status for the Council from Parish to Town will be reversed, and the Mayor will revert to being a Chairman. Polls are open only from 4pm-9pm.
The Highways Agency will be holding an exhibition of proposals for M20 Junction 10A, on Friday 13 June 3:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday 14 June 10:00am to 4:00pm, at Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, Ashford Business Point, Waterbrook Avenue, Sevington TN24 0LH, off A2070 Orbital Park roundabout.
