Rural communities who suffer from slow broadband will now be able to bid for funding to bring them up to speed. Kent County Council has announced a £1.5 million Superfast Broadband Pilot Fund to help rural communities benefit from high speed broadband.
105.9 Academy FM, Folkestone's new community radio station, has announced that it will go on air at 12 noon on Thursday 31 March 2011. A number of streetlights round the East side of M20 J12 roundabout, including the slip road off the motorway from Dover and the lights around the corner onto Cheriton High St to the BP garage, are currently not working.
The streetlights not working (which is all of them!) on The Undercliffe, Sandgate, have been reported to Kent Highways by Folkestone West County Councillor Tim Prater. The lights went out on 4th February and reported soon after. Kent Highways sent an engineer to the road on Tuesday 8th February and diagnosed a cable fault.
