Norman Lamb has called on the Government to make sure money to help young people with mental health problems is spent effectively and on time. The Government has outlined how £143m, which the former health minister secured, is going to be spent on improving children's mental health services in England this year.

The BBC are reporting that the Government are planning to force landlords to monitor the asylum status of all tenants and will be expected to evict tenants who lose the right to live in England under new measures to clamp down on illegal immigration.
The high street banks have never really been a suitable source of loans for those with limited assets or income - their basic idea seems to be that you can only borrow from them if you can afford not to do so. The principal alternative that grew up historically for those in need who could not meet the strict lending criteria of the banks was loan sharks and unregulated lending. Other than credit unions, of which more later.
