Bearder disappointment at Copenhagen Comedown

Euro MP for the South East, Catherine Bearder, has expressed her huge disappointment at the UN Conference on Climate Change in Copenhagen. After two weeks of negotiations world leaders failed to come to an agreement on the best way to tackle climate change. Limited progress was made on the most important issues and once again we are asking, what needs to happen before governments will act to tackle the climate crisis?

I'm writing to let you know some good news about the Liberal Democrat manifesto - good news for students and for everyone who wants a fairer Britain. This week the Party's federal policy committee agreed a way to deliver one of our most important policies, the scrapping of unfair tuition fees. We've developed a plan to phase out tuition fees over the course of the next six years, to ensure this vital policy is affordable even at this time of economic crisis.

Sandgate Road closed west bound tonight

There will be a west bound lane closure on Sandgate Road, Folkestone this evening, 8 December 2009 for 1 night only. Works are to take place on Sandgate Road near the junction with Clifton Road to allow Veolia Water services to carry out urgent water main repairs.
