Following the re-timetabling of the next East Kent Joint Area Committee, the East Kent Joint Scrutiny Committee planned for 31 March 2009 has been moved to a new date of 28 April 2009 at 9am in the Council Chamber, Shepway Civic Centre.

Folkestone Town Council to massively boost cycle stands across Town

Folkestone Town Council have got the go-ahead to install 32 new cycle stands this year across the town in a major boost to cycling provision in the town. The 32 new stands will be in clusters in key spots identified with the Folkestone / Shepway Cycling Forum, including locations in Cheriton / Morehall, Harbour and Park wards.

Kent Highways FAIL: Cheriton streetlights still out despite SIX weeks to fix them

On a regular check of streetlights in Cheriton, Folkestone, in early January, Lib Dem Councillor Tim Prater has found and reported over 30 broken street lights and lit road bollards. The report was made to Kent Highways on 5th January, and has been followed up twice since then, asking when action would be taken, but still the majority of the lights are not yet fixed.

Sandgate Boot Fair - 28th February 2009

There will be a Fund-raising Boot Fair in the Chichester Memorial Hall on Saturday 28th February. All proceeds to go towards the Chichester Hall Roof fund. There are lots of repairs that need urgent attention!
