Why Is Lynne Walking?

Shepway Liberal Democrat Group Leader Lynne Beaumont will be walking around Folkestone town centre for 5 days from the 2nd to the 6th November 2009. The reason for the walk is to raise funds for the Salvation Army and the Rainbow Centre, both of whom deal with homeless and vulnerable people on the front line.

Lydd Airport Planning Meeting will be in March 2010

Shepway Council have announced that the planning meeting to decide the Lydd Airport planning applications for runway extension and new terminal buildings are now scheduled for Wednesday 3rd March 2010. The meeting will be held at Shepway Civic Centre on Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone starting at 7pm.

LEAP Folkestone

Leap Folkestone, organised by Shepway District Council, is part of the Leap Years programme of events co-ordinated by EKLAAP (East Kent Local Authority Arts Partnership) is a FREE Parkour performance in Folkestone by local students this Saturday. Parkour (free-running) is the discipline of overcoming obstacles with efficient and fluid movement.
