The Kent School Organisation Advisory Board has voted unanimously against the merger of Harcourt and Morehall Primary Schools in a meeting at Sessions House in Maidstone today. The meeting received the report on the public consultation on the proposals, which received almost 1,000 responses, of which just three were in favour of the merger.
Selsted School's future is now in the balance after the Kent School Organisation Advisory Board narrowly voted to recommend the closure of the school. The final decision will be made in the next week by the Kent County Council Education Leader John Simmonds.

The key Kent School Organisation Advisory Board (SOAB) meets this Thursday 7 September in Maidstone to consider the future of Harcourt and Morehall Primary Schools in Folkestone. Kent had proposed the "merger" of the two schools onto the Morehall school site, closing Harcourt Primary School, and have been strongly opposed by local parents, residents and the Shepway Lib Dem team amongst others.

The Lib Dem office in Sandgate High Street was broken in to over the Bank Holiday weekend. The main entrance door of the offices had two of its glass panes smashed in and the door had been opened, but the intruder then appears to have left empty-handed.
