A new website acting as directory of Councillors using the popular "Twitter" service (www.twitter.com) has reached 112 Councillors nationwide as of mid-February - including Councillors on Shepway District Council, Folkestone Town Council and Sandgate Parish Council.
Folkestone Town Council have got the go-ahead to install 32 new cycle stands this year across the town in a major boost to cycling provision in the town. The 32 new stands will be in clusters in key spots identified with the Folkestone / Shepway Cycling Forum, including locations in Cheriton / Morehall, Harbour and Park wards.

On a regular check of streetlights in Cheriton, Folkestone, in early January, Lib Dem Councillor Tim Prater has found and reported over 30 broken street lights and lit road bollards. The report was made to Kent Highways on 5th January, and has been followed up twice since then, asking when action would be taken, but still the majority of the lights are not yet fixed.
