Plans to create a new organisation to manage council housing in East Kent have been agreed in principle by Shepway District Council. The proposals would see the creation of a company, jointly owned by Shepway, Canterbury, Ashford, Thanet and Dover councils, which would manage the 21,000 homes owned by the five.
New Romney Coast Lib Dem Councillor Val Loseby has welcomed Shepway District Council's halting of the public consultation of a separate parish for Greatstone. Val Loseby had questioned the consultation process with Shepway Council when it became clear that only selected households were being asked their views and not all electors even in those areas.
