New Discover Folkestone web site to tempt tourists

AFTER a month when its website attracted a record 379,175 hits, the Discover Folkestone, Hythe & Romney tourism marketing organisation has switched to a new inter-active system which provides potential visitors with more information and improved facilities to find and book inspected accommodation. Linked to the destination management system operated by VisitKent and other information providers and to major search engines the new-look www.discoverfolkestone.co.uk also gives local tourism businesses more opportunities to access regional, national and international markets.

Potholes on the Bayle

Fuller Shocked over Awful State of the Bayle and The Parade

Local Campaigner Gary Fuller was shocked to see the state of the road in both the Parade and the Bayle last week. He was appalled at the number of potholes affecting both roads, noting that there were barely any flat surfaces on either of the roads. He has since reported both roads to Kent Highways for immediate action.

At last - improvements to Folkestone West station!

At long last, South Eastern Trains has carried out refurbishments at Folkestone West. Lib Dem councillor Tom McNeice began a campaign eighteen months ago, pressing for improvements to the station area, and especially to the subway under the railway lines.
