Nick Clegg tackles Gordon Brown on Gurhka Justice at Prime Ministers Questions

Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg has once again taken the issue of the unfair treatment of Gurkhas who retired before 1997 into the Parliament. At Prime Ministers Questions on Wednesday, Nick asked when the Government would finally grant citizenship rights to all Gurkhas, including those who retired before 1997, and tackle the injustice that sees a Gurkha's service years before 1997 given far less pension than equivalent British Army soldiers.

Dhan Gurung and Peter Carroll hand in Gurkha medals to Downing Street

Cheriton Councillors Dhan Gurung and Peter Carroll were amongst a delegation who presented the medals of Gurkha soldiers to 10 Downing Street today. The medals were being handed in at protest at the treatment the Gurkhas receive from this Government, who continue to deny the right of residence to Gurkhas who retired before 1997, and pay pensions a fraction of others in the British Army for years of service before then.
