A delegation from Folkestone Town Council today visited the Folkestone Academy for a presentation and guided tour with Principal John Patterson. The £38 million Academy opened in September, and the tour was an opportunity to show off some of the facilities at the school.

Fifty-six post office branches are to close across Kent with the first ones winding up in the New Year. The 56 offices include all FIVE in Shepway that had been included - despite huge public outcry and even an offer by one Post office in Enbrook Valley to PAY continue to operate its Post Office!

A Shepway Council publication has confirmed that Shepway District Councillor Linda Oliver is no longer living in Hythe - but is STILL staying on as a Councillor for Hythe West! The update to the Council's "Year Book" on 3rd December confirms that as of 6th December, all correspondence for Cllr Oliver should now be sent to the Civic Centre in Folkestone.
