Shepway Liberal Democrat Peter Carroll has slammed Conservative Shepway District Council for the disastrous state of the recycling initiative in the area. The council has just announced that the fleet of special recycling vehicles has had to be withdrawn from service for urgent safety checks.
In the forthcoming Folkestone Central by-election (13 October) to Shepway District Council, the Conservatives have selected a candidate who lives in Selsted, more than 5 miles from Folkestone. Local residents will have to choose between local Lib Dem Maureen Kincaid Speller, who lives in central Folkestone, and the Tory candidate from the village north of Densole.
The Annual General Meeting of the Shepway Liberal Democrats will be held on 25 November from 7.30pm at Newington Village Hall, Newington. All members of the Shepway Local Party are welcome and invited to attend. The AGM will receive reports from the last year, and elect officers, executive members and conference representatives for 2006.
While the Tories debate their voting performance at their Party Conference in the opinion polls and the ballot box, it now appears that members of dating sites are also rejecting their advances.
