Guides Renewal of Promises
On an extraordinarily hot morning (at 7.30am!) the Mayor and Mayoress joined the Girl Guide Uniformed Groups, at the Ampitheatre in Folkestone's Lower Leas Park to witness the Renewal of Promises in this centenary year.
New boundaries for the 2024 General Election.
From the 2024 General Election, the Parliamentary Constituency of Ashford will (pretty ridiculously, in our opinion) include the District of Folkestone and Hythe wards of North Downs East and North Downs West, in addtion to the Ashford Borough Council seats of:
Aylesford & East Stour, Beaver, Bircholt, Bockhanger, Bybrook, Conningbrook & Little Burton Farm, Furley, Goat Lees, Godinton, Highfield, Kennington, Mersham, Sevington South with Finberry, Norman, Park Farm North, Park Farm South, Repton, Roman, Singleton East, Singleton West, Stanhope, Victoria, Washford, Willesborough, Wye with Hinxhill.
The Ashford seat therefore stretches pretty much to the coast, across an area that in no way could be called Ashford: Ashford and North Downs, maybe.

Sometimes it is such a privilege to be present at a function, and this one at Brockhill School will remain in our memories. Opening the event in a beautiful marquee, was the school choir who sang The Lord's Prayer in Swahili. The Chair of Governors spoke of his pride in the school and the Principal explained the outstanding successes of the school.
In August last year Kent County Councillor Tim Prater started a bid under KCC's Members Highway Fund to look into a scheme to create a one-way scheme in Morehall Avenue and Chart Road.
