KCC to slash library services to the Golden Valley by half

Local Lib Dem Gary Fuller has reacted with shock at Kent County Council's (KCC) plans to halve the number of mobile library visits to the Golden Valley. In a consultation document, published this month, KCC propose to reduce the frequency of mobile library visits to the Valley from weekly to fortnightly. Commenting on the plans, Gary said:

Making Party Conference Easier to Attend

The Liberal Democrat Conference Committee is very mindful of the cost of attending conference. The cost of coming to conference as well as the overall length is often raised in feedback from members. As well as keeping registrations rates as low as possible to members, launching the conference access fund and negotiating discounts on travel costs we have been looking at the length of the autumn conference. The main costs of attending conference, for most people, is having to take time off work and the cost of accommodation. Many members are not able to take the time off work. There is also increasing pressure on all political parties to reduce the length of all political conferences to minimise the impact on parliamentary time.

Kent Trading Standards have received a number of reports of scam phone calls from people claiming to be from Kent County Council, enquiring about a recent accident you, or a member of your family has had.
