This event is a photo call to mark the end of a year of celebration for the guiding movement. I have been privileged to have attended many of the events this year and this final ceremony was tinged with sadness at the end of a very long party. Folkestone Academy Primary School were the winners of the 2010 Folkestone Councillors' Cup football tournament held on Wednesday 3rd November. The football competition held The Stadium, Church Road, Cheriton, is organised by Cheriton Councillor Dhan Gurung, funded by Folkestone Town Council and supported by Charlton Athletic Community Support who provide coaches and referees for the day. Teams from Folkestone Primary Academy, Stella Maris, Morehall, Harcourt, Cheriton and St Martins in Folkestone were all taking part.
It has taken many years to bring the dream of a Community Centre into a reality, and today I had the great pleasure of performing the opening ceremony at the new Christchurch Community Centre, Folkestone.
