New chairman for Folkestone Town Centre Management

Peter Fawcett, a retired chartered builder, has been elected chairman of Folkestone Town Centre Management (FTCM). Previously chairman of the Folkestone Area Partnership Against Crime (FAPAC), an operational arm of FTCM, he succeeds commercial estate agent Andrew Beggs, who stood down after a completing a three-year term in the office but remains a director of the not-for-profit organisation which includes retailers and other businesses.

Shepway District and Folkestone Town: Full Council Meetings this week

Shepway District Council has a full Council meeting tonight (Wednesday 26th at 7pm), and tomorrow (Thursday 27th, also at 7pm) it's the turn of Folkestone Town Council. The public are welcomed to attend and watch Council meetings: both take place in the Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone.

Bad parking is putting lives at risk - that is the stark message from Folkestone's fire crews to the town's inconsiderate motorists. Many roads in the town are regularly turned into no-go zones for fire engines and other emergency vehicles because of cars left double-parked, at junctions or too far from the kerb.
