My feet are becoming used to the additional standing to watch important events and my leg muscles are getting stronger to cope with the extra walking and standing. This event however, required endurance of feet, legs and back! Perhaps because the military are so used to standing and walking, they have forgotten that some of the rest of us are pretty unfit!

Over the summer, Folkestone Film Factory is running a series of five-day film workshops for 8 to 15 year olds, in which they will get the chance to make their own film. Last summer saw the making of an apocalyptic disaster film, a zombie dance-off and a surrealist comic art film. Kent Trading Standards have received reports of men selling shrink wrapped flat screen TV's from the back of a truck in the Folkestone and surrounding areas. Their information suggests that the sellers have no fixed address.
Kent County Council has given notice that from 19 July 2010 for a period not exceeding 5 days, Grace Hill, New Street, and Bradstone Road, Folkestone will be closed to through traffic. Grace Hill will be closed from the roundabout extending through New Street to include Bradstone Road up to the junction with Clarence Road.
Kent Trading Standards are warning of a scam mail being sent out telling people that they have won a substantial amount of money and that all they have to do is to order an item from a brochure enclosed with mailing. They are then promised that the cheque will be in the post. They won't. THIS IS A SCAM.
