Folkestone Academy Principal John Patterson died over the weekend. He had become a well known figure in Folkestone since becoming the Academy's first Principal when it opened its doors in September 2007, and his death was completely unexpected.
Folkestone Library will be closed for 3 weeks from the 19 May to 9 June. Repairs to earthquake damage in the upstairs part of the Library will start on Monday 28 April, where the ceilings on the staircase are being repaired, along with substantial repairs in the Peter Davis Heritage Room.

Action from Sandgate campaigner Season Prater has convinced Shepway Council to take action on overflowing residents bins for flats above the Enbrook Valley shops in Golden Valley, Sandgate.
