The polls have closed for the local elections across Shepway. Many thanks to all those who have voted. The count of the votes will take place on Friday from 9am at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone.

Around 400 people, were helped by The Salvation Army following the aftermath of the earthquake on Saturday morning. The Salvation Army church and community centre in Canterbury Road, Foord, in the area of Folkestone most affected by the quake, which measured 4.3 on the Richter Scale.
Kent Trading Standards are warning householders affected by Saturday's Earthquake across Folkestone, Dover and surrounding areas to take care. If householders believe that their property has been affected by the tremors and needs repairs they should contact their insurance company or landlord in the first instance and report the incident to them.
