Lib Dem Park ward councillors Bev Rolfe, Lynne Beaumont and Maggie Sheldrake have been conducting a survey of views of those neighbouring the Cheriton Road Sports Ground about the proposals for a major new modernisation and development of the facilities at the ground, supported by the De Haan Charitable Trust.

Community Chest Grants - Could YOUR Group apply?

Shepway Council have announced a second stage to their Community Chest funding programme, with another £35,000 available for local organisations. Grants of up to £5,000 are available for projects, plus one £20,000 grant in the year. Applications for the second phase of funding will be accepted up until 2nd November 2009.

5th September sees the return of Shepway Lib Dem's popular quiz - all welcome! The quiz will be held at Saltwood Village Hall in Saltwood starting at 7.30pm. With a wide range of subjects from local quizmaster and councillor Sam Matthews there is something for everyone - all are welcome so either come along and join a team or bring a team of your own of up to 6 people.

County Councillor Tim bids for Morehall Avenue and Chart Road traffic changes

Folkestone West County Councillor Tim Prater has started a bid under Kent County Council's Members Highway Fund to look into a scheme to create a one-way scheme in Morehall Avenue and Chart Road in Folkestone. The roads suffer badly from parking and traffic problems, especially around school times, with the roads often locking with traffic unable to pass each way.
