A statement by Cllr John Schoner on behalf of Hythe Town Council has called on Shepway to refuse the submitted planning application (Planning Application No Y10/0436/SH - Fishermans Beach, Hythe), and raised questions about Shepway's own potential £2.25m income from the development if the application is passed. Their statement says:
The Liberal Democrats are calling for Shepway Council to make the best use of its car parks and stop setting a district wide tariff which is driving people away in a motion to the 24th November Full Council meeting.
It's good to see that Shepway have now started monthly reporting of payments made by the Council to external bodies and suppliers that are £500 and over at http://tinyurl.com/2e2er3f
The planning application for the development of Hythe Fisherman's Beach goes to Shepway District Council Development Control Committee this evening (16th November, starting at 7pm).
