A new group for welcoming visitors to Kent is to be set up in the Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh area and friendly, knowledgeable locals are being sought to join it.
Keith Bennett and Aster Hall welcomed the Mayor to B-4-8s in Town Walk, Folkestone and described the excellent work that they do. David Dickinson also welcomed the Mayor and shared some past experiences about the help that the charity has been able to give.
It is a great pleasure to open new initiatives in Folkestone. The new Oriac House Learning Centre in the Glenmore Centre, Shearway Business Park will encourage companies to train staff upwards in anticipation for promotion or new employment rather than as a reward for past work. This is especially good for younger people.

The Mayor was pleased to hear from so many people that they considered Folkestone to be one of the best venues they have experienced this year. Cheriton High Street, Cheriton has now been re-opened (afternoon Friday 28th May) after investigations into subsidence in the road. The carriageway subsidence was caused by a collapsed sewer pipe which has now been repaired, and the road closure signage is currently being collected.
