Liberal Democrat Leader Menzies Campbell today met with a delegation of Gurkha veterans in Westminster, and backed their ongoing campaign for fairer pensions. Menzies Campbell called for an immediate review to deliver fairer pensions to the many Gurkha veterans on low pensions or no pension at all.
Lib Dem campaigner and keen re-cycler Maureen Speller has discovered that the plastic bottles skip at the Ross Way waste centre will be withdrawn on 31 March this year. The cut will come as a blow to those who do not have doorstep recycling collection (in particular those in flats) as it will make it harder to recycle these materials.
Kent County Lib Dems have renewed requests for a review of car parking charges at William Harvey Hospital. The move comes after it was revealed that the hospital trust ranks the fifth highest earner of car park income in the country. East Kent Hospital Trust received an income of over £1.6million from car park fees.
