Kent Highways thanked for repairs in North Lane

After a request / report for resurfacing in North Lane in Sandgate (leading off Sandgate High Street) from Tim Prater, Kent Highways have resurfaced the top end of the lane and reinstated the yellow lines. Local residents are delighted with the work, and the helpfulness of the Kent Highways team who made the repairs.

General Election Nominations for Folkestone and Hythe

The deadline for nominations to be the next MP for Folkestone and Hythe was 4pm, and the accepted nominations have been announced by Shepway Council. Lib Dem candidate Lynne Beaumont is facing six other candidates in a contest widely expected to be a clear choice between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservative candidate.

Folkestone and Hythe Liberal Democrat candidate Lynne Beaumont has welcomed former Green Party member Rob Ryan to the Liberal Democrats. Rob Ryan has quit the Green Party and joined the Liberal Democrats as the only viable alternative to the Conservative Party locally.

Despite the Conservative controlled Shepway District Council (SDC) voting in favour of the expansion of London Ashford Airport (LAA) on March 3rd, the battle to stop this disastrous decision continues. The Government Office of the South East (GOSE) has deferred their deadline to contemplate SDC's decision until June 11th, after the General Election.

Huge Surge for Lib Dems in Polls Good News for Folkestone and Hythe

Three national opinion polls over the weekend have shown the Liberal Democrats surging into the lead in the General Election race nationally. Folkestone and Hythe Parliamentary Candidate Lynne Beaumont has welcomed the news, saying that although the polls will continue to change, it's clear that there is all to play for both nationally and locally.
